I wonder what color Maggienette's eyes will be when she opens them.
A magazine is something that I can read (all of it). A clip is something that I can watch on YouTube (but only part of it).

[spoiler="It spoils the joke"]
I much prefer magazines because
A: I get the whole thing instead of a piece, and
B: I can go through it at my own pace, which is usually 25 to 35% faster than the video.

Magazine is also a cognate for the French word that translates to “store.” AND it is the word for the room on a warship where munitions are kept. ISTM that the “magazine” on a semiautomatic weapon SHOULD refer to the part of the weapon into which you can insert a CLIP full of ammunition.

Let the firearms industry take note and start using some sensible, intuitive language rules to apply nomenclature to their doo-dads and thingamajigs.
Involving someone in the negotiations whose core competency is determining the Value of anything, be it a Spell being cast, Units, Cities / territory, non-aggression pacts, a Ruler not being croaked, and possibly draining large amounts of Juice from the Source for many turns, seems like a very wise move.

Don't like the sound of that.

True, but like "There are not enough beans in the world!" I believe this reflects the Tower's opinion that they must save the side at all costs (beans).

Now I kinda want to see the Makaleka become a Thinkamancer, as Maggie becomes a Date-a-mancer. Makaleka already is mostly a real person now, so why not become a caster like Maggie, her 'mother'?

I am very interested to find out whether the apparent Signamancy changes (Magionette's hands, as has been noted here before, possibly the color on Maggie's hair and skin) could be indicative of a bigger change - and further developments.

Maggionette seems to be more alive, and less constrained. All dolls have a very limited G-string. The personality-information of Dolls like Maggionette, the Lion, Scarecrow and Tin Man are normally tied to the Dollamancer's or Thinkamancer's strings. This bit Magionette seems to have stolen. Her H-string is tied to Maggie's however. She still is not a complete unit. Hence, perhaps, the remains of a scar on the side of her face.

It may be possible that Maggie can use that H-string to continue to influence the Magionette, and make it take not just the goggles but also the choker chain. And to reTurn to TV.

But the Doll is not a Caster. It was never a full copy of Maggie.

Blasphemous! Gears and cogs are Turnamancy.

That dance the Makaleka is doing looks a lot like Issac's invisible dance when he cut Tondy's (and the other archons') string...

Now I kinda want to see the Makaleka become a Thinkamancer, as Maggie becomes a Date-a-mancer. Makaleka already is mostly a real person now, so why not become a caster like Maggie, her 'mother'?

Also, what pronoun should we use for the Makaleka now that Bill's string's been stolen, and when does she/it become a 'she' versus an 'it'? I personally vote 'she', since now she seems to have a sense of identity, which dolls don't really posess. The Isaac doll, after all, refers to itself as a 'he', as does Wanda, and it's far less advanced than Makaleka is by now.

I think it's more likely that Maggie will become a Master Thinkamancer and the Makaleka will gain Date-a-mancy abilities (note I said it would gain ABILITIES, not actually become a Date-a-mancer). Sizemore did say back in book 2 that jumping from novice to adept to master was something that occurred when you gained a new insight into your discipline; the fact that H-strings are a thing alongside G-strings would certainly qualify, I feel.

Going from Thinkamancer to Date-a-mancer (or even going from non-caster to full) seems very unlikely, since... well, we don't really have any example of this sort of thing happening, or anything even close. Or anything that even suggests that such a thing might be coming as far as I'm aware. We know that golems can have abilities of their own (such as stealth or siege). I do recall that Leadership is natural Date-a-mancy and the tin golem gave a Leadership bonus? So there would be some precedent, at least, for the golem to have such abilities but not necessarily to be a full caster.

The Tinman wasn’t made chief warlord specifically because it lacked a leadership bonus.
I just realised we've already seen several combat applications of Moneymancy.

I just wanted to say that this illustration of Skyy, all smug and one eyebrow raised, has pushed her to the front of my "Erfworld special lady friend"TM draft. Kudos to the illustrators in capturing her spirit.

I also don't think Rob got enough credit for Skyy's use of "Princess Bleach" as a put-down. I mean, it appears that the basic Transylvito unit is dark-haired, so obvs Cheri is not a real blonde. And she did look Peachy, in her brief time with the crown.

False! The creation of gears and cogs are Dollamancy. Turnamancy is the motive force required to make them go.
