Oh! Speaking of Peppa, have we asked whether after Peppa was encouraged to sleep full of happy memories, Atari was allowed to have a meal without the possibility of no meal?

We don't need to ask that. That's what happened. Noah and Atari had no food, but then when we change to the See Bird's perspective, it can see that they have enough food that the See Bird isn't in danger.

Apparently I did... thank you for pointing out the obvious that I couldn't see.
"Said the drummer boy to the mighty king, Do you know what I know?"

Update begins. Atari is hungry. Noah tells him not to eat the See Bird and that he can be lazy. Atari growls, because laziness is not a substitute for meat. Noah says he knows this. Immediately following this is descriptions of the old boar that has lived a full life (It is during these descriptions that it is stated the boar lives on an island). The boar is coaxed out of hiding, has its head filled with good memories, and it then goes to sleep. In front of a hungry jaguar that was just told that it could be lazy. The very next paragraph, Noah is described as having plenty of food.

What, Noah wanted Peppa to come fart in Atari's face as a prank? "Don't worry Atari, I'm going to pop some rations for you. But first, I'm going to taunt you with ANOTHER animal you aren't allowed to eat!"

Doesn't make a ton of sense.

Thanks for pointing out the "island" line. I'd blanked out re: its location like I'd lost my car keys.

The rest of my speculation was more about wondering the relative Shmucker costs of hunting versus popping food than I was wondering about what Noah did in this update and why.

But now that you mention it, I agree, it wouldn't make sense to let a boar taunt a jaguar... unless (I assume) the jaguar had already been fed, if only partly. Seems like Noah would have already fed Atari enough for survival, enough to not lash out at Peppa, but not quite enough for Atari to not notice the See Bird. (I dunno what the safe limit is for inter-pet hijinks -- it's been a long time since I had more than one pet, and those were goldfish.)

On first reading, I took a grain of salt with the line "There was food enough here." It's from the perspective of the bird, so I wasn't about to extrapolate it to applying to Atari -- simply because I didn't think that he and the bird would eat the same kind of food. But I did suppose that Noah was good enough at his job to know that there were Shmuckers enough here. (See also: feeding the jaguar first.) Plus, a Google search just now tells me that gulls are carnivores and occasional scavengers, so maybe an abundant food supply for a gull is supposed to imply abundant food for a jaguar. Maybe Noah catches a huge supply of fish every morning. [crossing my fingers for Rob to make a Life of Pi reference]

Eh, I'm sure Noah Moore knows a lot more about his job than I do -- and same for Rob, of course.
Guys, Atari absolutely ate Peppa. Noah was offering up Peppa as a substitute so that the Sea Bird wouldn't get eaten. He convinced Peppa that he had done all he wanted to do, so he went out with a bang (or a "ffffffft")

Plus, No Amore would be a particularly tragic name for a Date-a-mancer.

Is it, or does he... know amore?

If Casanova was a caster, what would he be popped as?

A Dirtamancer named Newhouse?

...I see myself out.
wishing everyone a happy xmas.

Now I whonder of Erfworld is a game of those where during "Xmas season" it spawns the rare xmas units that are only there during that time of the year. Like Xmas elfs that give gifts instead of rations. :o

Back when I was ambitious and wanted to write a fanfiction trilogy, the third part was going to be a heist of Santa's workshop. Dollamancer ruler, with Jingle Elves as natural allies.

Did you know: Casanova was a librarian by trade (as am I). While we represent his love affairs in popular culture as being all about a dude just wanting to get his oats, he actually as often as not seems to have had a healing effect. Typically he would meet a woman who was disenchanted and neglected by her husband; Casanova would do his work and a short time later she would have a sense of her own worth, either return to her husband ready to ask for what she actually needed or find a better husband. Casanova would politely exit the scene happy to have made the world a better place.*

So, based on at least his retelling (see asterix) he would be a Hippiemancer with strong Signamancy (from his literary pursuits) and Dateamancy (for obvious reasons).

*also he was when it suited him a pedophile/ephebephile and literally bought a 12 year old sex slave just to spoil the whole lovely picture.
