It'd be really easy to assume that Parson is also the warlord that the see bird saw. (She saw sweet shows by the sea shore?) But I doubt that because I doubt such a risky flight would extend far inland, and Parson has been very inland. Other theories? My favorite is that the bird saw Duke Forecastle.

The only other theory I can come up with: the bird saw Jillian being squished by a falling nose.

But really, I think it has to be Parson.

(Also, the timeline is wrong for Jillian. Noah's communing with the bird before the mass tower awakening, which means Jillian hasn't been sneezed at yet.)

Jillian may be a lot of things but nothing to sneeze at.

So it can probably originate from that one.

Actually Atari is an old company that made games and consoles. Among these consoles was the legendary failure, the Atari Jaguar. I was very proud to have owned one and then very sad to learn that shortly thereafter game stores stopped stocking jaguar games because it just didnt sell (unlike Segas Dreamcast, however, the Jaguars library of games never had any classic hits or hidden gems in its lifetime).

Good catch. The Jaguar is a rather obscure console now because of its lack of success, though like a lot of failures it didn't stop its tech from being used long after its supposed demise in other projects (like arcade machines). Atari of course is the creator of Asteroids and Pong, two of the early video games in arcades.

So Noah is suggesting that Atari is gonna suffer a "hostile takeover" soon? Can't see where it is significant storywise naming, but it is still interesting.

"Hostile takeover"? You mean like using an arkendish to take control of enemy dolls?
If anything can be gleaned from this page it's that most ferals seem to have a limited amount of memory. So the question remains whether it is the "Read Only" kind, or if it's "Random Access". Given the limited memory state, they may be the next-cheapest unit for a hostile side to give orders to.

Though given that it took a Datamancer for the boar to remember, I'm going to say that the datum that is their memory is ROM (a pig can't read! And "Random Access Memory" doesn't seem like a very stable way to remember anything. Though it is debatable that the things we remember are random.)

I think this is a red herring. From the updates with Bound Isaac, we learned that dolls and golems are vastly simpler (in Thinkamancy terms) than any entity in Erfworld that actually has Life. It's probably impossible to take direct control of a living unit, even with an Arkentool.

I'm not old enough to remember the Atari. What signamantic connections might they have to jaguars/jungle cats or destroying hogs. Are they American Football mascots maybe?

It's because of the Atari Jaguar. Atari's (the company) one and only attempt at producing a console after the classic Atari 2600 (and immediate successors). It was released the year before the original Playstation and was perhaps the only console launch to be a bigger charlie foxtrot than Sega Saturn. It didn't help that the marketing about it being the first 64-bit system was essentially a lie.

Err, what? No. Atari released the Atari 5200 and the Atari 7800, several years before the Jaguar.
I've put my mod hat on here, and in addition to snipping quite a few posts, I'm going to say that while people discussing connections in the wider world to ideas from the comic is great, Erfworld reactions are not the place for seeking affirmation of why the words you use to you talk about ethnic groups are okay, that's not a social niche we're interested in providing.

I appreciate that people put a lot of effort into the ideas and discussion in the posts I've snipped, and regret the loss of that effort, but I think it's necessary to bring things back on track and avoid it being a distraction for everyone going forward. Thanks to everyone who sent in reports.

If you have strong feelings about this, I'd request you to PM me them, rather than discuss it further here, so this thread can get back to discussing the latest update and the new side and unit types we get to see.

Will we get the stats of those units? :) I have been missing those things that I loved from way back on book 1, its what it gave this comic the sensation of a game world. (visual cues) and its a bit sad that we haven't seen much of that as of late. :(

Generica is quite intriguing. and I do whonder if signamancers could have actual "sign seals" like the naruto ninjas to bring summons for 1 turn or more. :o
About the Adam/Garden-of-Eden thing...

God had previously told them that if they ate of the forbidden fruit, they would die. Therefore, if God allowed them to eat both of the forbidden fruit, and of the fruit of life, God would have been made a liar.

As for the tower of Babel.

In our church, we are taught that modern revelation reveals that the tower was built as (I'm trying to remember but it's hard) a kind of world-religion thing. Essentially, it was built to attract people to worship there, but specifically to worship the gods worshiped there, and not built up to God.

And apparently people were buying into it. Thus, God smote them and gave them separate languages, causing them to split.

God turns away none that earnestly seek him, but those that try to cheat the system... well, he sees what you're really doing and knows what's up.
