At the risk of spinning off a tangential argument that, for all I know, was hashed out years ago, do Decrypted even breathe? Presumably, if Ivan's worried about gas attacks, but the "sand suffocation" question makes me wonder.

Decrypted are exactly as they were before, except for:
- new signamancy
- more loyal to wanda than the side (though still under Ruler's rule...not 100% clear there)

They wear the livery of whatever side Wanda is currently on (modified to reflect Wanda’s idiosyncratic Signamancy), so, yeah they have Loyalty to GK.

I’m all of a sudden inspired to wonder, though, if Wanda were ever to be truly cured of he addiction to Heroine Buds, would the livery of future Decrypted pop without the pink flower?

For the love of God, stop teasing me. I just want Claud to get out of this alive. His character progression is just too good to waste like the Beans were.

War isn't the telling of interesting stories. It's not character progression. It's the sudden ending of those stories and characters without any resolution.

Buck might imagine Ivan having the helmet, but would he imagine Claude accurately as the one with the gun? Joe assumes its Ivan firing.

Hmm? Is there a gun in the picture? Methinks there is not.

Gunstock by Claud's right shoulder.

Ah, yes. mesees now.

We do not. If they could, don't you think the Dirtamancers of the Magic Kingdom would have noticed, at some point, the whole rail network down there?

"... feel trough that bedrock, like Pinkie did." Buck says that in the update, therefore I conclude that they can. As for the railroad network, presumably no one ever felt the need to sense below the bedrock level, which is rather thick. Why would have anyone spent the effort? And even if someone had they would have to catch a point where there are tunnels. Most of the Magic Kingdoms underground is still solid bedrock.

I'm gonna assume that Buck is speaking colloquially and hastily rather than being as precise as possible, being as he's, y'know, Buck.

And, what, the Dirtamancers of the Magic Kingdom, who don't exactly have a day job beyond hiring themselves out, never once in all their thousands of turns thought to feel below the bedrock? I mean...how many turns do you think it took Ivan to clear out those tunnels? Dozens of Dirtamancers never felt any vibrations or anything from that, when they could feel the Thinkamancers' Temple collapsing from across the island?

I don't buy it.

Buck is giving them direct instructions on how to attack them. Why would he give instructions that are physically impossible? I also dont think that someone trying to dig a secret base and someone setting off enough explosives to level the largest building we've seen to date in the MK are the same sort of stealth level at all. The biggest thing was probably the dirtmancers belief that you cant tunnel through bedrock. Why spend juice looking for tunnels in something that is functionally impenetrable? There's also the fact the only ones who could do this to you are your own dirtmancers. We've seen before that the casters in the MK are a bit blind when it comes to their own disciplines.

I wonder if Rob actually intends these final panels to be ambiguous, or if he's tearing his hair out in frustration reading our arguments?

Or maybe laughing at the sillyness of some of the theories.

Because he is Buck.

We'll all find out in a couple of days anyway.

Your optimism is unwarranted. Most likely, the next updates will show us:

[snip snip]

Jillian screaming at her new temple

Hey, we were both right about the setting of the update! :D Me, not so much about this update being partly imaginary, but oh well.

I'd be giving you both +1 Predictamancy but it has to be said that Umbrathor said QUITE A FEW THINGS in this thread so I'd like to announce the new special of shotgun predictamancy.
What about I? I called everyone but Ivan croaking under the rubble.
