To quote the great (and fictional) Eleanor Shellstrop (in Erf-friendly language no less), "Holy motherforking shirtballs!"
Here is another small possibility. The scroll doesn't do what Jojo actually says it does, and instead it is part of his secret agenda. It could send Parson half way back, or to some secret location. The goal could be for Parson to learn some information, make Charlie think Parson is gone, or break Parson's loyalty bounds to GK. And Jojo had to be subtle about it, if some natural Erfworld forces (such as Fate) are the enemy.

Parson is inevitably coming back in some sparkly pumps so we could have 2 warlords, yeah?

I was just thinking about that... I agree that the Arkenshoes are very likely Parson's way "home", but I don't know about them remaining ruby slippers when he attunes to them.

I wonder if they will instead look like blue suede shoes :)

We're not taking Jojo's word for it. Charlie told Parson what it does, as part of his binding contract, in which he was obligated to tell the full truth about it. We also had an analysis by the Great Minds while Parson was hanging out in their Temple.
I think that Dr. D would have to be implying that Jojo swapped the scroll before giving it to Parson. Though that doesn't explain why the GMTTA analysis was wrong. But maybe it functions "close enough" to the original that the GMTTA wouldn't know more than that Charlie's explication of its function was plausible.

If we assume Jojo was being honest in his conspiracy with Roger, rather than just using him as an anti-Parson mole in the GMTTA, them maybe the scroll teleports Parson directly to Charlie for a sworderrific showdown.

I'm personally extremely disinclined to believe anything Jojo says that isn't verified by a more trustworthy source. I doubt he's even bothered with the proxy funding schemes that Vanna has followed to not be serving CC directly. There's probably a number of reasons his own side titled him "the disgraced".

That would be the Erfworld equivalent of coming back with a seamless garment and crown of thorns

Sadly, I don't have time to read all 16 pages, but did anyone else notice the bracer went with him?

So far by the panel, it looks like it did. I guess it's possible it could have someone standing in front of where it fell, or Roger could have fallen on top of it or something, but no clattering to the floor sound effect, and if Parson disappeared leaving it behind, I'd imagine Benjamin would be looking at it and commenting on it.
I can’t be the only one to notice that Parson is saying “Oh Boy” as RVC is being rip corded. I don’t think Parson is hone to Stupidworld, but held up in a stateless state. Between things.
Huh. I really wasn't expecting that trigger to be pulled on that one. Then again, Hamster was carrying that disbanded scroll everywhere he went, so maybe I should have.

So did Marie spot this one coming? Is this part of her plan, to have the weight of Hamster's destiny fall on to someone else, or perhaps, to shake Wanda's faith in Gobwin Knob's high command, priming her for turning with the loss of the chief warlord and treasury? Or, given that she failed to foresee the Thinkamancers agreeing to the new bargain(thus blinding themselves to Charlie's attack), will this too, have lain beyond her sight?
Yeah, that's what scares me. Parson could be Fated to end up serving Jillian.

But...please not yet. Marie was wrong about the timing, after all, unless she foresaw sitting in that dungeon. She can sit there for a thousand-turn if that means Jillian gets her head bolted on straight before getting Wanda and Parson (and probably Jack) on her side.
