Y'all're assuming too much. The simple reason Charlie doesn't promote any of his Archons to Warlord is because he doesn't want any of them to have knowledge of his treasury.

Hmm? I've always assumed it was because he probably had a Prediction that a warlord (perfect or not) would bring about his end.

Well there might be multiple reasons for the fact that Charlie does not promote Archons to warlords.

One might be that they simply cannot be promoted to Warlord (Though it might be possible to get around that problem with Carnymancy.).

One of the reasons why he never has anything besides Archons as living units under his direct command is that it would destroy the Team culture between the Archons. Any warlord might give orders to Archons, at least to those with lower leadership than him.

As for a potential Chief Warlord, under certain circumstances a Chief Warlord can order his ruler around, that would be a real no go for a control freak like Charlie, even though the side would benefit from a Chief Warlord bonus.
Shouldn't the first line read EXCERPTED FROM TOWER MINDSTREAM instead of TEMPLE MINDSTREAM?
No, because the tower is now a temple, specifically a Shirley Temple.

Right. I see now. Later on in the update Charlie calls it the tower mindstream when he's pulling the video from the scout. I guess Charlie forgot it's now a temple as well.
Charlie likes to 'forget' a lot of things about Shirley, it seems.

We'll see whether he's open to becoming a better person (and ruler) or not.

But I'm guessing not.
I just want to highlight another funny passage:

"I think she's a little sweet on you."
"They're ALL a little sweet on me!"

I think it's a shame that Shirley Temple seems only to be a henpecking mother and to have none of the wisdom of Jed. Her signamancy is that of ancient goddesses, I had hoped she would contribute a natural acumen to :charlie: . Certainly, Charlie could benefit with a re-connection to what Erfworld fundamentally is, and getting another savvy insightful advisor is definitely a priority for him.

Overall, she's just disappointing and I hope that we can expect more from her character in the future cus so far she's already boring and annoying.
Well, we've seen "more" and it almost looked like deliberate and elaborate betrayal. I'm sure it wasn't, but I doubt Charlie will be so sure, once he figures out who awakened her.

Jed has made mistakes too, but on the whole Parson could stand to do more rather than less listening to him, and probably feels that. Shirley is also keeping Charlie from Gardening, and whether he physically needs it or not, he definitely believes that he needs it.

On the other hand, I think it's only fair if Jed offers something to his side that the other temples don't. After all, GK had to invest a lot of juice and original out-of-the-box thinking into what used to be their exclusive advantage. Think of what an experimental three-caster link would cost a side if it didn't just happen to have a ready means of quick, free and painless expert unlinking. Now other sides are getting the same kind of boost for free?
"Signamancy is very hard to Fool"

Presumably the way to do this would be via a 3+ caster link, eg Think-Sign-Fool, so that the Foolamancer can perform their craft in a normally unperceived sphere. Just as with "uncroak the volcano".

Thinking culturally, if this were commonplace then contracts wouldn't be trusted. Since Signamancers have the most to gain from a culture of trust in contracts, it's probably taboo to undertake such a link.

Come to think of it, we've never seen Jack in a "lateral thinking" tri-link. I wonder if Fate can be Fooled?
