Nope. I definitely would've remembered this! This Findamancy was all you.

It's called the Tell Brak Head.

From wikipedia (Tell Brak Head, no images):
wikipedia wrote:
It was found in the so-called Eye Temple, where a large number of offerings to the gods had accumulated over time. The temple, built around 3500–3300 BC, was named for the hundreds of small alabaster eye idol figurines, which were incorporated into the mortar with which the mud-brick temple was constructed. [...]

The Tell Brak Head is carved from alabaster and appears to wear a head-dress. The face is elongated with large almond shaped eyes, circular ears and a small, smiling mouth. It has been difficult to determine whether the figure represents a deity or worshipper. A thin vertical depression at the back of the head, with holes either side for nails, suggests that it was once fixed to a pole and used during religious ceremonies.

Oh my Titans, you're right! Here is the link.

And from the Tell Brak page:
Wikipedia wrote:
Tell Brak was a religious center from its earliest periods; its famous Eye Temple is unique in the Fertile Crescent [...]

[...] named for the thousands of small alabaster "Eye idols" figurines discovered in it [...]

It is unknown to which deity the Eye Temple was dedicated, and the "Eyes" figurines appears to be votive offerings to that unknown deity. Michel Meslin hypothesized that the temple was the center of the Sumerian Innana or the Semitic Ishtar, and that the "Eyes" figurines were a representation of an all-seeing female deity.

Sadly, this page doesn't mention the "head" figurine. It has an image of two "Eye idols":

If these things appear throughout the tower, then things should get interesting for Jillian.

Did I personally recognise it as anything in particular? No. But I still found enjoyment out of how much of an idiot the tower looks like, as I found enjoyment in Claud giving his pitch-golem lederhosen....

Then again, Claud could of given the Tar Golem suspenders to help the golem stay up. The clothing gave the golem a more consistent form. That's something I had never considered before. Lederhoisen keeps pants up the same way it kept the liquidy golem up. Guess it wasn't such a waste of juice after all.

Lederhosen?

Huh.

I must have missed that image. Could I trouble you to provide a link? TIA :)

Here ya go!

Turns out I was misremembering things and the Pitch golem wasn't wearing lederhosen. So that brings me back to square one on why Claud bothered to dress the golem at all. Guess he just has OCD

Because narrativium.

There are 12 pages of posts so this has probably been ninja'd 10 times over, but ironically I was looking at something else today and came across the carving that this Tower is based on. It's called the Tell Brak Head. I'm on mobile so I can't link, but you can Google it.

You nailed it, congrats!

You won the thread! XD
Tell Brak seems to be about an Eye Temple. Maybe the Tower will be Bette from Bette Davis Eyes.

Ooooh! If the tower has eyes, I wonder if it will make her remember Wanda's mannequin. IPTSF 038

That would be perfect!

Wow. Amazing find, and so far into the thread. I don't know how long Team Erfworld follows these threads, but I wonder what their chat was like as we all completely missed this obvious reference.

*TinFoil Time* Is Fla_Panther a Team Erfworld sockpuppet? Quick, someone put "Fla Panther" into an anagram decoder!
Hmmm...the deliberate alterations in the Signamancy are still interesting.
Came to post on the last update and happened to see I had a bunch more shmuckers all of a sudden. Now that I'm at a regular PC and can do Ctrl-F I was able to go through and see that no, no one else had posted about the Tell Brak Head in 12 pages. I guess let this be a lesson to anyone else not to assume that something's been discussed already, even with 12 pages of posts! :)
Also, for what it's worth, this is what happened. I was taking a short break at work, and happened to come across a post on Reddit discussing a different mask:

https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/ ... iscovered/

I read the wiki page, which mentions the Tell Brak head, checked that wiki page out of curiosity. I noticed there was no picture, so, again, curious, I did a Google image search. The funny thing is that I didn't even make the connection at first. I locked my phone, went back to work, hours later opened it again and my browser was still on that page. That's when I happened to see the 5th pic and it clicked.
Whelp there goes the neighbourhood.
