This is sort of a weird question but has Rob ever considered... crowdsourcing Erfworld? The community has a lot of great ideas and being able to pick from a significant amount brains may help when writing intelligent characters.

The downside is that everything that open to the fans inevitably turns into shipping wars but if he crowdsources occasionally it should be safe.

I can't speak for him, but for myself, while I very much appreciate reviews about what I write well or badly and suggestions about what to change, suggestions about what to do next within a story are usually unworkable. The problem is that, for anything important, I'll have a lot of details worked out that haven't come up yet (or won't at all; just because I have an idea doesn't mean it deserves to make the text), many of which relate to things already shown but not fully explained. Readers don't know these details, so their suggestions often contradict them and undermine existing world-building. I do accept ideas sometimes ("Sure, *mancers can do that"), but normally only minor points peripheral to the main story.

I hope not.
That would be a train wreck. Having written things released serially, reader suggestions just didn't have the level of coherence of my advance plans. It's just not the same thing.

I really hope this doesn't mean Isaac is taking all the "cheats" (Wonky Wrench, pilfered juice, and corpses created via remote string cutting) with him and going home.

Isaac is the biggest cheat in the story by his mere existence.

The last two stories that I know of that were crowd-sourced?

Problem Sleuth. It was very slow going for a long time.
And Homestuck, at least, the first 3 chapters. After that, Hussie took over. At least until he was killed. Then Doc Scratch took over. Until he was killed. Then ... yea, you know.
Crowd sourced side-stories about minor characters (like the backer stories already are) could be workable, as long as there's someone in-the-know to act as editor to prevent main characters from being used or mechanical concepts that don't work in-universe.

Some of the fan fiction for Erfworld has been great, and I wouldn't be offended if Rob approved a few as canon.

Totally agree. Spicymancer's Unjust Deserts was the only reason I kept on checking Erfworld since the hiatus started. Beautifully crafted world, far away from anything in the main story, taking all the known gameplay rules and twisting them without ever feeling out of balance! And so many puns...

What about a text update?

Bill's interaction with RVC is likely text update material as well, if we're getting that.

After the long break I'm forgetting names and abbreviations. Anyone posted a list of abbreviations recently to catch up us older folks with forgetful minds?
RVC is Roger Victor Clarence. There wasn't a redirect in the wiki, so I added one.

Other common abbreviations? Hmm....
