I kind of wonder if there's a good and meaningful way to express those kinds of ideas in a way that people wouldn't immediately try to escape from.

Possibly not, we think with monkey brains. :)

For the record, the technical way a philosopher would put it is that stupidworld is 'the closest possible world with the given properties' - meaning that stupidworld is a possible world identical to our own except only that it differs in those ways which are explicitly noted in-story, and those ways which must follow by pure logic from those ways noted in-story. I don't think that's too complicated?
Stuff like this comes up all the time in metaphysics (also to some extent in aesthetics and epistimology), so philosophers need a way to talk about it.

Sure, plain as plaque, but try to get people to make the conscious difference without effort in everyday life. :)

I've always pondered the possibility that within this story, perhaps Stupidworld isn't real. Perhaps Stupidworld exists only in Parson's memories, summoned into existence with him when the Perfect Warlord spell was cast.

Counter-evidence: after Parson PLOTs out of Stupidworld, we have two more panels of people existing and acting, without Parson's awareness.

Slightly off the subject: for those curious whether Erf items would work in Stupidworld, the linked comic shows some kind of dissolving light effect that persists after Parson vanishes. Something related? Juice?

I think another possible plot would involve someone else getting dragged along for the ride, should Parson cast the scroll. Maggie seems like a good choice, since she is close to Parson, would be the most likely to know how to work out a way to return to Erf (if she keeps the Jed connection she'll be able to communicate with GK and have a juice source), and on the Erf side of things there'll still be Bunny to pull Thinkamancy for our protagonists.

I don't think he's gonna cast that scroll, though.
Why are there MORE users with a lemon theme? There can only be so many puns

Recall Parson's initial summoning to Erfworld; the Signamancy of that was from Tron. In the movie, the protagonist had abilities to modify the environment that exceeded those of the beings originating in it-- abilities which actually violated the rules of that environment.

Tron ... Good catch, I missed that.

Now, the hero from Tron survived two things that should have caused derezzing, but did not. He had three lives in that movie, just like a video game.

How many "that should have killed you" things will Parson survive?

(walking into the MK, surviving an infernal, ...)

"There can be only puns!"

If all else fails with this negotiation,...

Parson: "Got your nose". He runs away

Don King: "After him!"

Caesar: Just standing there, looking at Don funny.

Don King: "He's got my nose!"

Is that a Black Cat Manga reference with that "13" on that warlord's chest or something else that I'm missing? Maybe the unit was just unlucky.
