It never actually says that it would be recreated in the same hidden valley. And while you might think I'm picking nits there, if it wasn't moved, the text is a bit awkward - why wouldn't you say "Faq would be recreated as it had been, with all three of its cities rebuilt" or something more direct. I had always read that section to imply that Faq was being re-founded at a new location. But maybe that's just me.

How many hidden valleys containing three cities including a capital site do you think there were in the Minty Mountains? Transylvito was present at the time too, so any new location would also have to be an area they didn't expect to find cities in. The three cities they had used before, on the other hand, were already right there and unknown to anyone.

Meanwhile, there doesn't seem to be any advantage to picking a different three cities.

The exact text was:

They would raze el-Efbaum. Faq would be recreated as it had been: three cities in a hidden valley.

Faq had taken el-Efbaum, which was to be razed, and they would be be back down to three hidden cities like they were originally. Jillian had wanted to turn Faq into a powerhouse side since Haffaton was down and all the land was up for grabs. While not first person, she is the perspective character there, and it seems more the way she's thinking about it than how the king worded it. I don't think that line is clear enough to support either conclusion, really.

Jillian talks about the trip back to Faq. Whether she could use the tunnel wanda dug, etc.

Yeah, that's a good point. The text there:

Quote:
To that end, she‘d reviewed Efbaum‘s production options and decided to pop high horses. They were decent, tunnel-capable ground mounts that popped at the rate of one per turn. There was at least one underground route into the valley, two if Haffaton dug through a mountain themselves. She‘d have to ask Wanda what route they–

is a lot more clear. To me it had always seemed like it made more sense for Faq to be relocated, so I probably missed the implications of that text.
Guys. GUYS! Listen, I know this is late, and I swear I TRIED searching the comments, but as far as I can tell nobody's caught it yet, so if this is old news I'm sorry but if it isn't then you've GOT to know--

Yeah.
Maybe Rob forgot it was a leap year and didn't realize there was a Monday this week.

:D

Hope Rob is okay. <3
Beeskee, you got any sleep at all, or have you been waiting for the update all that time?

Don't worry, they are just busy double checking if they got all the portal colors right :D
Yeah I finally got some sleep. XD

There certainly are a lot of portals to keep straight.

I'm surprised they don't have labels in the park

Wanda spake of instinctively knowing her way to her home portal during her Goodminton era excursions.
Yeah casters have a portal sense and know their own side, but all other portal identification is learned.

He's probably fine, outside of rushing to get the update out in the next 12 hours.

Far, far, far to the north. At the other end of the Minty Mountains. She spent fifteen turns trying to circumnavigate Haffaton, took, iirc, six turns to reach Goodminton after escaping the capital and expected to spend another twelve or so to make it home from there.

Good catch on the turn length, I missed that when I was searching. Since those remaining turns are by dwagon (Jillian tells us it has 31 move, but also that she's not flying straight) we can assume she is a good distance away from Faq. It's her third turn in the mountains when she finds Goodminton, so she's only 9 turns from Faq there though.
Doing some quick math since we have the coordinates, Charlescomm is about 120 hexes away from Faq. Goodminton is probably even farther, putting it just off the map to the north or west. Haffaton did indeed start somewhere beyond Jitterati, but do you know for certain it was north? Jillian began her escape heading Southeast, the direction of home. There's an ocean directly northwest of Faq so she clearly changed course at some point, but I couldn't find anything saying which direction she turned.
