Could a Turnamancer/Dollamancer make an ACTUAL Turncoat?
what would that even be, raiment that lowers the wearers loyalty? I don't have much better to do so its fun to theorize the abilities of different linkups like for instance, despite it likely being heresy, what would a Predictamanser/Carnymancer link do? I saw an opportunity and the joke was too good to pass up

Hey, I've just been holding onto that pun for a while, but didn't have a good place to put it into my fanfiction. Seemed like a similar sort of thing, so I threw it out there.

I think a Turncoat would probably resemble a straight-jacket.

The Turncoat would bring a penalty to the unit's dexterity but increase it's ability to Run.

I'd imagine a Shockamancer/Dollamancer would be able to create a burning jacket called a "Blazer".

Update cutting it close today.

How so? I mean, it's about 7:45 am eastern time, Rob's time zone, and the 'on-time' deadline is defined as 11:59 pm eastern time. I just checked the toolbox faq to be sure. Rob's got plenty of time before he's officially late. Or even officially cutting it close. We've just been spoiled by super-speedy updates.

I've noticed that the pledges increase faster when Rob pledges later in the day and slower, or even contract if he posts early. Not saying Rob is posting late to milk pledges. Just that people are funny.

I think there is a little bit of, "Well, maybe I'll pledge while I'm waiting." process going on when Rob posts mid-day during the anticipation stage, compared to when he posts at midnight his pledges are more of a response to the posted comic.

I'd imagine that the sharp increase in pledges during days Rob posts late is because most of those pledgers are under the impression that if the comic isn't updated now then it means that Rob has abandoned the comic and they get all the benefits of being a Tool without paying a cent.

A warlord who wished to be formally dressed but still have protection might opt for a Full Metal Jacket.

If they had archery they could accessorise with a Bow-tie.

Trying to be more clear: You seemed to be of the opinion that Lilith was likely to dust in this battle and that her being fated was not an indication that this is not the case.
Together that would mean that she is fated to dust in this engagement, presumably to protect another fated unit.

My rebuttal was that it wouldn't be neccessary to gave any special unit the fate to die protecting another fated unit since - as the example of Sylvia's battle against Artemis shows - fate causes other units to die to protect fated ones all the time.

I believe what Infidel was saying is that Lilith is likely to dust in this battle because she is fated, but not that she is fated to dust. That now is the right time to demonstrate what happens when Fate is denied use of their selected individual. Essentially, now is the right time to defy the premise of plot armor.

Pretty much. It's definitely not a suggestion or necessarily a prediction. Just saying that we pretty much know Parson and Wanda have plot armor. Maggie and Lilith not so much. If Rob wants to deny that the bubbles are plot armor, then killing off Lilith or Maggie in the same scene would effectively deny that possibility.

I'm hoping Rob does NOT feel the need to disprove plot armor right now because he'd likely off Lilith, and I'd much rather he didn't. One thing I really like about this story is it is not a Mary Sue story. The protagonist is not the best of everything, to the point that anyone that is better, will die to make the protagonist shine more brightly.
So it is perfectly fine for Parson to have an aide who is better at magic. An aide that is better at fighting, an aide that is better at construction. etc..
Lilith would be an ideal combat aide/bodyguard. So I'm hoping that's where the story goes.

But what if one of them is fated to cop a bullet in this battle? Or has some other, more gruesome death awaiting them this turn? No one ever said fate had to be nice.

Y'all better be careful you don't start going full Piers Anthony, there.

On that subject, we are so, so close to the next milestone. Step up, people!

(... please, because Canadian)
I am scared to see the next update. It is not going to go well for those CC Archons, and Rob has got us to care about both sides of this conflict. Which is of course good writing. She is going after the archons shooting at Parson, so it doesn't bode well for Dinah Might. We don't know the other archons names yet, but we have seen them enough to recognize what they look like, and they have been given personality.

And Lilith's words in this last strip felt a bit ominous. What if she is fated to bring three bodies to GK, and then that is all.

Come on Jojo. Cause enough ruckus to save the day.

How so?

It was a rather lame attempt at distance Turnamancy, a Kingworld of sorts. Imagine it works and a new page goes immediately up.

Not enough juice, I guess. :?
This anticipation isn't good for my health. I think I would prefer it if comics didn't get posted until the deadline. That way they will always get posted at the same time of day so I know when to expect them.

Wow... that's some bottom of the bottle type cynicism right there. You should seek help bro'.

Wouldn't you rather it'd be that people are so addicted to Erfworld that they realise that they need the extras to keep them going in between updates?
...Oh. Seems like it took a slightly dark turn here as well.. :|
