It would be fun to see Marie imitate River Tam (from Firefly/Serenity) with John Woo flavoring. Lilith tosses the guns through the portal, tripods go into action, Marie grabs two of the guns from the air, and puts bullets into all the tripod crews (without having to look where they are - one croak per bullet). All while diving to the side to allow a few GK units to get hit by tripods to replenish the GK treasury. And she would be acting as her own agent in self defense, so nothing for Charlie to benefit from. Talk about Predictamancy in action!

And then she can heal everyone with the scroll. Talk about insult to injury. Heh!

Janis using a gun to return fire and minimize injuries would be awesome.
I would bet against it. Not sure what to offer.

Paper doll golems seem like the best option, really. Veil them as regular units, of course. But there isn't time.

But really, Parson should have invested in a few of those a few minutes after signing the pact. So likely they would come in handy, one way or another, and they ought to be cheap.

Literally, Jillian's biggest critism of Ansom was how he cared for his men, and Ansom went into a suicidal rage when he lost a lot of them, that led to his death.

Where was that said? Jillian was always someone who was close to her troops. Someone who was buddy, buddy with them. At least in inner peace. But part of that same Jillian is still there. Someone who would rather hang out with her own troops, rather then other royals/commanders/ or casters.

And when did Ansom show he cared about his men? I saw him being a perfectionist who didn't like losing.

She is Queen now and Stanley is just another "first-wave piker puke" to her. Book 3 - Page 21

About Spacerock, last we heard it is level 4; GK was saving money by having Sizemore do upgrades before leveling it. I think this may have been a retcon from a previous mention that it was level 5, but I don't remember when that would have happened. In practice the city's level probably makes no difference, and your point stands.

I always assumed that that damage from the Inferno was reflected in the City Level being downgraded from 5 to...whatever it was before Parson upgraded it back up to 4

Taking that statement to indicate Jillian is a royalist snob contradicts everything else about her character. Thus I think is a clue as to what Stanley did that actually makes Jillian so angry. Jillian would not hate Stanley so much just from him taking FAQ. But if FAQ had good realtionships with Gobwin Knob, Saline IV, and their chief warlord, and then the all problems for FAQ and Jillian starts when a piker from gobwin knob backstabs its own side and overthrows it, it would cause anyone to hate him. Conquering other sides is part of the nature of erfworld, and isn't personal. But causing problems for your own side is bad.

And now Stanely is a ruler for a side he was supposed to be a loyal piker for. And he did not get to be a ruler due to competence, and in the process caused Jillian a lot of personal grief. Calling him a 'piker puke' , meant the same to her as calling him a 'backstabbing weasel'. That's my theory.

I don't think it's contradictory as her personality is changing after she became Queen.

How FAQ could have had good relationship with GK when FAQ was supposed to be hidden?
"backstabbing" and "weasel" are both insults, and Jillian uses both "piker" and "puke" similarly as insults, if she would have said "filthy <insert ethnic group>" the comment as a whole would be taken as an insult, not as an commentary about the questionable personal hygiene of an individual who just happens to belong to a certain group. To my ear it sounds like she would be saying "plebeian scum". Yelling this when her own lowly warriors can hear it, makes her not much better than Ansom, when he was having his royalist rant in Book1.
Jillian has shown no other indication of being a Royalist. She does seem to treat people according to their worth as individuals more then their status. She didn't let the fact Albert was a royal or her heir, cloud her judgement in anyway. She is changing into being someone who cares about something again, and is getting loyal to her side again. But she isn't changing into a Royalist.

And FAQ was a mercenary side and could very well have been doing mercenary work for Saline IV/Gobwin prior to events. And Saline IV has something majestic about him. If Banhammer was friends with any other ruler, I would see it with Saline IV. There is lots of reasons FAQ could have had relationships with GK even if GK was not aware of FAQ's location. I could see Jillians mercenary work with GK is what made Wanda aware of Stanelys existence and enabled her to contact him.

Jillian hates stanely at a personal level that goes beyond just hating him as a conquerer. There is more to the story that we don't know about.

And Stanely is not a very competent ruler. If Stanely rose to his position due to showing good leadership abilities and was the best person for the job, I don't think Jillian would have hated him. But Stanely isn't competent, and shows the signs of being mostly a single minded conquerer. Jillian doesn't respect him as a ruler, and that is not an unfair assessment. But that does not mean that if a piker under her control showed good leadership she would not respect it. Her insult was against Stanely personally. It was not a statement about her attitude towards pikers in general.
Perhaps Wanda will have doubts about betraying FAQ and turning to GK. Although, fighting against fate wouldn't happen if you didn't already know your fate.
I doubt it.

The units freeze until attacked. In order to take the garrison (and therefore the city) this Archon would have to attack garrison units, at which point they would unfreeze and defend themselves.

Sure, but an archon is demonstrably more than a match for any GK unit one-on-one. They've been shown to take out dwagons in a single shot.

To get back his 140,000,000 he has to take the capital city, not just croak Stanley. I think that is the point. The city become neutral, and freezes in time. Units left in the city do not experience turns, and cannot act unless the city is attacked.

That means someone has to go in and take the city by force for a big payday after the ruler croaks that way.

*edits* Jed might make that an interesting fight too. I still want to see what Parson and Jed come up with when they put their heads together later. :P

Jed seems to know stuff others don't, or at least thinks of things most don't. Parson may find that very useful.

I just wanted to come back to this because I remembered this exchange, and point out that if there's any viability to Parson's Transylvito plan, then this one would also be viable (modulo Jed, whom Charlie may or may not know about). Which is to say that a veiled Archon sniper with maybe another couple of archons taking out Stanley while the side is sleeping then stalking through the halls with guns would be able to take Spacerock and the treasury.
